As a creator and musician who cares about other musicians, Emily-Rose always does her best to be accomodating. She can currently be hired to engineer and/or produce at the studio as part of the hire. If you want her to work on a full project including engineering, producing, mixing, arranging etc. then contact record@peppermintgrovestudios.com for a project based fee. Art takes time, and feeling pushed to get everything done in a day or two isn’t always the best approach, so we can also work out what works best for an enjoyable time, sustainable for everyone and produces great music.
Note to female and gender diverse humans wanting to learn/practice their engineering/producing skills. I’m very happy to work out ways to facilitate you using the studio in a way that is sustainable for you, so please get in contact. For anyone who loves a big day of gardening – you can also enquire about contributing to your studio time fee via some help at Peppermint Grove’s extensive garden.
For one offs – here are the usual prices.
Full day is $550 for recording at the studio. A day denotes 10 – 6pm with an hour lunch break. It also factors in some pre-recording consultations via phone and prep time before the you arrive. The last half hour of the day is set aside for a rough mix of the material recorded that day. This includes Emily-Rose as engineer, plus tea, coffee, and snacks. Emily-Rose also loves making artists feel at home so can provide lunch/dinner depending, and asks for a donation to go towards ingredient costs.
Dry hire of the studio is $350 a day. You can bring your own engineer.
Use of the Shigeru grand piano is $70 flat fee per session. That goes towards its ongoing tuning and maintenance. If you need the piano tuned and serviced directly prior to recording it is $300. All other gear is included.
A mixing day is $480. Depending on what kind of music you are making, the mix process will differ in length and involvement. Sometimes one track will take a day. Sometimes a whole album can be done in a day (although rarely). Mixes can be attended by band members from day 2 of mixing. Mixes include 2 revisions. This does not include mastering. Please engage a mastering engineer to master your recordings.
A basic live video made by Emily-Rose is $500 for under 4 minutes. e.g: Isabel Rumble You’ll Sing, Like A Movie or Wild Fire’s ‘Leave To Enter’.
Note that if you want Emily-Rose to act in recording engineer AND producer capacity, things may take longer, especially if you also want her to capture video.
