About Emily-Rose

Emily-Rose is a musician and organiser of many things, who loves putting on the producer hat at times.

Emily-Rose grew up playing a lot of classical piano, and as a 15 year old had a Rocky Horror Themed birthday party. So she kind of flip flops between being an extremely detail oriented professional and an alternative beautiful weirdo.

At 15, Emily-Rose started her own teaching business, at 18 started at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, at 19 she started playing accordion and discovered the folk scene, at 21 spent a year studying in Germany, at 25 immersed herself in Tango in Buenos Aires, at 29 ran the largest tango festival in Australia, at 33 released her first album with her own band Emily-Rose and The Wild, at 36 started boutique music agency Bespoke Folk Music. She doesn’t like to be idle.

She loves growing things in the garden, and growing things in the studio. During the 2020 pandemic, she worked DIY with friends Nick Henderson (pictured to the left) and Chris Stone to turn the garage into a control room, and Peppermint Grove Studios had a serious upgrade. Since then, she’s been dipping her toes into studio production, mixing and some video as well. She thinks she’s doing alright with it and would like to do more – especially helping others record and produce their music.

Her own music shape-shifts between song-writer, jazz meander, classical boss, folk frolicker, electronic dabbler… You can find her at emilyroseandthewild.comhttps://emilyroseandthewild.com
